Our Maternity Centre in Anabah Hosts the First Scientific Conference on Maternal Health to be Held in the Province of Panjshir

This week, the Panjshir region of Afghanistan hosted its first ever scientific conference on maternal health, which took place in our Maternity Centre in Anabah.

The conference was attended by 50 gynaecologists and obstetricians based in the local area, and saw appearances from special guests Prof. Gerard Visser of the University of Utrecht and Prof. Gian Carlo di Renzo of the University of Perugia, both members of the executive committee of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Discussions were held on how to tackle the alarming rise in the number of caesarean sections performed around the world, particularly in developing countries with high birth rates, where this trend poses an even greater threat to the health of both mothers and babies. Solving these problems requires resources and, above all, knowledge.
