Taking care in architecture
An international leader in social design since 2000, TAMassociati combines social engagement with professionalism, creating and promoting sustainable architecture in cities, landscape design, participatory and educational processes, graphics, and social media.
The firm has received a range of prizes and acknowledgements. In 2013, it won the Aga Khan Award for excellence in architecture for the Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery in Sudan, the international Ius-Capocchin prize for the most sustainable paediatric hospital in the world, in Port Sudan, and the Curry Stone Design Prize for the social and environmental sustainability of recent projects carried out around the world.
In 2014, TAMassociati won the Zumtobel Group Award for innovation and sustainability for the paediatric hospital in Port Sudan. It was named Italian Architect of the year in 2014 ‘for its ability to emphasise the ethical side of our profession.’ It provided the curating team for the Italian pavilion at the Venice Biennale’s 15th International Architecture Exhibition in 2016, a service requested by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage (MiBAC).
