EMERGENCY NGO and its founder Gino Strada to Address European Parliament Committee in Brussels

EMERGENCY NGO will take part in a panel hearing on emergency and humanitarian aid in conflict areas at the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday 21 March. Dr Gino Strada, the founder of EMERGENCY NGO, will speak on ‘responding to healthcare needs in emergencies and boosting sustainable development’.

The panel, hosted by the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Committee on Development, aims to shed light on the links between human rights and emergency/humanitarian aid practice. Pier Antonio Panzeri, Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights, will deliver the opening remarks. Christos Stylianides, EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, will open the panel.

Before the public hearing, from 14.00 to 14.30, a press conference will take place in the pressroom of the European Parliament (PHS 0A50). Pier Antonio Panzeri and Dr Gino Strada will introduce the subject of the panel and they will answer any questions that could arise. Journalists are very welcome to attend.
