EMERGENCY to Take Part in CTSNet Live from Africa: Perspectives on COVID-19 From Sub-Saharan Cardiac Centers

Temi:

COVID-19 is a global health emergency, but the resources available to deal with the virus vary around the world.

This coming Friday, 8 May, CTSNet is streaming a free webinar which will host representatives from the cardiac surgery sector across Africa.

Cardiac surgeons based in South Africa, Sudan, Nigeria, and Tanzania have been invited to share their approaches on how best to respond to, and counteract, COVID-19’s impact in Africa.

Two EMERGENCY staff members, Dr Alessandro Salvati and Dr Juha Puntila, from our Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery in Sudan will take part. Dr Salvati is the current Medical Director of the Centre while Dr Puntila leads the organisation’s congenital programme.

They have been invited to share insights in light of the over 8,500 free-of-charge cardiac operations performed at the facility, on patients from 27 different countries.

The webinar will take place on 8 May at 10am Eastern Time (UTC -4).
