Gaza: “The needs here are all-encompassing.”

Temi:

“The needs here are all-encompassing. The tent camps are spread as far as the eye can see, and everything is in short supply: drinking water, food, electricity. With skyrocketing food prices, putting a meal on the table is often an impossible challenge.”

Stefano, EMERGENCY’s Head of Mission, provides an update on the “exhausting” situation faced by people living in Gaza.

Alongside destroyed hospitals and collapsed homes, schools have had to stop teaching. Instead, many are now shelters for civilians, whose mental health is being deeply impacted: “Often, these wounds take much longer to heal than physical ones.”

“Stress, fear, pain: this is life for people in Gaza. And leaving the territory is unimaginable, because all the crossings are closed or inaccessible.”

Our team is working to build an outpatient clinic in Gaza, to help respond to the health needs of a population that is suffering.
