Renzo Piano Building Workshop
Renzo Piano Building Workshop is an international architecture practice with offices in Paris, Genoa and New York.
The firm is made up of 10 partners, including founder Renzo Piano, winner of the 1998 Pritzker Architecture Prize, and around 150 permanent employees. Over 100 architects work for RPBW, and come from all over the world.
Since its creation in 1981, RPBW has carried out over 130 projects in Europe, North America, Australia and East Asia.
RPBW’s most recent buildings include the Shard in London, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre in Athens, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Columbia University’s new campus in New York, and the new Paris Courthouse.
The quality of RPBW’s work has been recognised by organisations like the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Some of the important prizes it has won include the AIA’s Twenty-five Year Award in 2013, Building of the Year in 2016 and the Équerre d’argent in 2017.
