Afghanistan | Kabul Surgical Centre Admits 9 People Following Overnight Attacks

Monday, June 29, 2026

EMERGENCY’s Kabul Surgical Centre has admitted nine people following overnight attacks by Pakistan in the provinces of Paktia, Paktika and Kunar. The figures remain provisional.

“So far, we have admitted nine injured people at our hospital, four of whom are children,” explains Viktor Urosevic, EMERGENCY’s Programme Coordinator in Afghanistan. All the patients have undergone surgery. Following last night’s attacks, we deployed three of our ambulances from the towns of Gardez, Ghazni and Sheikhabad, where we operate First Aid Posts. They remain on standby in the event of further casualties needing to be transported here.”

We call for an immediate end to hostilities, the protection of civilians and dialogue to achieve a diplomatic resolution to a conflict that risks further inflaming a region already embroiled in wars and dangerous escalations.”

EMERGENCY has been present in Afghanistan since 1999 with two Surgical Centres in Kabul and Lashkar-Gah, a Surgical & Paediatric Centre and a Maternity Centre in Anabah (Panjshir Valley), as well as a network of more than 30 First Aid Posts and Primary Healthcare Centres.
